Bio
Rebecca Kershaw graduated from Deep Creek High School (Chesapeake, VA) and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Education at Saint Paul’s College (Lawrenceville, VA). During her collegiate career, she earned numerous accolades by showcasing her versatility and talent in basketball, volleyball, softball, and tennis. Her extraordinary achievements included being named Rookie of the Year (2004), Athlete of the Year (2007 and 2008), receiving multiple Coaches’ Awards, and earning All-CIAA recognition for her outstanding performance in athletics. She further cemented her place in the college’s legacy by being named Miss Saint Paul’s College in 2007-2008.
Coach Kershaw began her career in education, teaching all subjects in elementary school. Her passion for teaching led her to middle school, where she became a 6th-grade English teacher. In 2023, she found her true calling in Health and Physical Education, where she continues to inspire students by teaching them valuable life skills. In addition to middle school, Coach Kershaw also works with high school students at the Chesapeake Center for Student Success, an alternative placement for students needing a more structured academic environment. She recently completed her 9th year as the head coach for girls' basketball at Hugo Owens Middle School in Chesapeake, Virginia, to take on her new role as the first Women’s Basketball Coach at Tidewater Community College in the NJCAA, Division III - Region 10.
