Bio
Clint Wright Sr, serves as the Men’s Basketball Head Coach and brings decades of playing and coaching experience to the program. A 1991 graduate of Norfolk State University, Wright was a key contributor to the Spartan basketball program during his collegiate career. He helped lead Norfolk State to the 1990 CIAA Tournament Championship and three appearances in the NCAA South Atlantic Regional Tournament.
Following his playing career, Wright built a strong reputation as a successful and respected coach throughout the region. Most recently at Lakeland High School, he led the Cavaliers to the 2020 VHSL 3A Regional Championship and earned 3A Region Coach of the Year honors for his leadership and program success. Wright later guided his team to a VHSL State Basketball Championship, further solidifying his legacy as one of the area’s accomplished basketball coaches.
Known for his leadership, player development, and commitment to excellence on and off the court, Coach Wright continues to impact the next generation of student-athletes while building competitive, disciplined basketball programs.
Coach Wright is married to the former Javonda Graves, and together they have three children: Derek (Mel), Clint Jr, and Destinee, along with two granddaughters, Sarai and Naomi.
